kids in doodles: visiting our national hero’s monument

kids in doodles, out + about, weekend

i visited rizal park for the first time 2 saturdays ago when mum met up with her friends who love swapping postcards. the place was really huge and you’d have a hard time exploring the entire place. i simply love the fountain in the middle, too bad they only get to open it later in the afternoon, but i really love the cool dancing lights display by nighttime. there are a lot of families spending their afternoon there at the time, maybe because it is a weekend. it sure looks like a perfect place to unwind, some people rented mats so they can sit on the grassy ground and have a picnic. come to think of it, mum + i should’ve done that! 😉

we went to explore the chess park, where the concrete tables are designed with chess boards and where all the chess enthusiasts meet to play their favorite games.we checked out the chinese garden, too. + we also get to see the monument of jose rizal, our national hero, who happens to be the main attraction in this park, and where the park got its name, too. we even have photos taken with it as our backdrop. can  you spot me in the photo?

it sure is one good place to visit, i can spend hours just looking at the fountain + running in the grass. and probably pick more of those white flowers, too! kuya kendrick + i entertained ourselves by picking those flowers + pretending they were helicopters dropping from the sky! ^_^

too bad we were not able to ride the train or the horse-driven carriage. i will make sure to try those the next time we visit!

have you been to somewhere interesting lately? share your fun stories with us + link up your entries here. do not forget to visit our other playmates, too, right? i shall wait for those doodles then! have a good one! 😀
