Children learn best when they are having fun, and the summer season is a great time for young ones to discover and explore their growing talents. This year, Jollibee once again provides its Jollibee Kids Club members an opportunity to discover and enhance their talents with its annual Talent Camp, to be held in various stores from April 6 to May 29, 2015.

One of the perks of being a Jollibee Kids Club (JKC) member, the Jollibee Kids Club Talent Camp is a six-day camp with various workshops focusing on the different JKC Smarts, which includes performance arts, arts and crafts, reading and social skills. The fun-filled activities will culminate in a graduation ceremony wherein the young talents will get to shine and show off their skills.

Unicef Philippines is holding two events this year to commemorate Typhoon Yolanda and the 25thanniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). UN children’s agency UNICEF announces two commemorative events this November to bring to light the situation of children’s rights in the Philippines. The one year commemoration of Typhoon Yolanda and the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) gives the country an opportunity to look back on the gains and challenges of growing up in a country facing multiple disasters, amidst a rapidly changing and socio-economic reality.

The CRC, the most widely ratified international human rights treaty, is focused on protecting and promoting children’s rights to survival, development, protection, and participation. Countries that have adopted the CRC—including the Philippines — are bound by its international laws and are required to always act in the best interest of children.

Lotta Sylwander of UNICEF

“The Philippines made a set of promises to children when it adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990. While more and more Filipino children are growing up happy and healthy, looking back on 25 years of progress reminds us what is still left to do and how the vision for Filipino children must shape up,” said Lotta Sylwander, UNICEF Representative in the Philippines.

got a new haircut from peppermint kid salon

we went to sm aura to visit a recently opened salon, peppermint kid salon and spa boutique. mum won a slot for a spa party at the place in one of the blog giveaways she joined. it sure is one cool place to visit + one great kid salon to have a haircut.

it has all the ingredients of one salon every kid will enjoy, just check out the cool christmas decor, those huge gifts + the other display. they even had a stack of legos for the little ones to tinker on while waiting for their turn to be served. there is also a lovely nook behind the main salon area for mums + dads to have some pampering of their own while their little ones get groomed.

what caught my attention + what drove me to volunteer to have a haircut is this  cool airplane barber chair. i did have a wonderful time sitting on it while the friendly kuya give my hair some tlc.

apart from a haircut, they also offer manicure and pedicure services for the kids, as well as lice treatments. if you happen to be anywhere near the vicinity, i hope you check out peppermint salon a visit. i enjoyed my experience there too much, am giving this kid salon two thumbs up! 😉
