Jared’s Mailbox: Vintage Batman + Robin Postcard

I recently received this postcard from the mail. It was my Tita Jinky who swapped this for me because she knows that I love Batman, yes, including the old version. This one is from the Batman TV series that featured Adam West as our favorite caped crusader.

This is what Wiki has to say about Batman TV series:

Batman is a 1960s American live action television series, based on the DC comic book character of the same name. It stars Adam West as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Burt Ward as Dick Grayson / Robin ~ two crime-fighting heroes who defend Gotham City from a variety of arch villains. It is known for its camp style, upbeat theme music, and its intentionally humorous, simplistic morality {aimed at its largely teenage audience}. This included championing the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables, and drinking milk. It was described by executive producer William Dozier as the only situation comedy on the air without a laugh track. The 120 episodes aired on the ABC network for three seasons from January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968, twice weekly for the first two and weekly for the third. In 2016, television critics Alan Sepinwall and Matt Zoller Seitz ranked Batman as the 82nd greatest American television show of all time.

I have yet to see this series but mum said she used to watch it when she was younger when it was aired in a local channel. Although I prefer the modern Bat-suit and the modern actors who portrayed this superhero, I do believe that Adam West did a great job and he was a cool Batman. I also enjoy seeing his Lego version in the Lego Batman Movie game.

This is an awesome superhero postcard + I love having this in my collection. My mum has build up my collection over the years + she plans to add some more this year as she re-activates our postcrossing.com profiles so we can send and received more cards. She hopes to have me write my own cards for sending. I guess we will see if I am up to the task. 🙂

So, do you love Batman + are you also into postcrossing?

from my mailbox: astro boy postcard

collections, cartoons, cartoon characters, postcards

check out this cool astro boy postcard we got last year. it came from malaysia + mum got it from one of her direct swaps. she loves swapping for postcards with cartoon characters, especially those that she’s sure i will love. we have just watched the astro boy movie so i was introduced to this character. mum said astro boy was already in existence when she was a young boy + there used to be an animated series of him shown on the telly weekly.

i enjoyed watching the astro boy film so i really loved it when we got this postcard. i am sure i will enjoy the cartoon series just as much, hopefully they will come up with a new one or that they would re-release the old series.

do you also love collecting postcards? let me know which interesting cards you received in your mailbox recently + if you’d like to swap with me, right?
