toy stories 05: my mobile phone

V-tech mobile phone, toys

today am sharing to you one of my first + favorite toys – my v-tech mobile phone. mum + dad bought this as another gift (check out my other gift here)when i turned 1 year old last year. i instantly fell in love with this toy + it also instantly fell onto the floor when i threw it for the first time at the toy kingdom floor where we bought it!

i used to love playing with mum’s mobile phones, maybe that is why she got me one of my own. mine is actually cooler with loads of colors in it (it is fun to play during nighttime just before we sleep because of all the pretty colors!), it actually has cute + funny sounds, too! you press a dial + the numbers are said allowed as you press on them. you press another one + the numbers will read out different greetings + niceties to use during a phone conversation like “thank you”, “hello”, “let’s call daddy”, “daddy i love you.” another dial will turn these niceties into chinese niceties like “Xièxiè” for thank you + “Nín hǎo” for hello.

V-tech Mobile Phone, toysv-tech mobile phone, toysit also sings a beautiful song that goes:

call your friends, mommy too, you can say how do you do, with a ring, ring, ding-a-ling, caller of the day, have your friends to come + play

toy stories 03: of floaters + other summer toys

summer is not long gone but i miss it already! i totally enjoyed all the activities we did + places we’ve been (although there weren’t that many). apart from that, i also totally enjoyed the summer toys dad bought me especially for the season. he’s got me two arm floaters, one has a 101 dalmatian puppy + the other one has dumbo, the flying elephant in it (which my cousin, Shane, insists on borrowing cause she’s mistaken dumbo to be a girl!)

i also got this supercool jetplane floater which i used so i can float in a 4-foot swimming pool + in the beach! i simply love riding it in the water 😉

i’ve also got a few colorful balls + rubber duckies + boats that my mum threw into the water whenever she set up the inflatable pool, + the pool happens to by my most favorite, if it will count as a summer toy! 😉

toy stories 02: my musical table

my musical table is a gift i got from mum + dad on my very first birthday.

apart from the colorful knobs + dials that i enjoy twiddling + pressing, the balls + the leaping frog + the merry-go-round mushroom + the fun sounds they make, it also has a small piano on the other side where i can play some nice music, with wonderful lights to go with that, too! the music also changes when you turn the music book from one page to another.

+ when am tired of pressing the knobs + buttons, or making music in the piano, i can turn the table around + appears yet another surprise! the table doubles as a yellow table with lots of slots where i can put the colorful, rounded blocks that comes along with my table. i can use it to build a tower or i can just play with the blocks alone + scatter them all over my room! i really love doing that! 😉

my table toy also has these cute ladybug + insect power + volume button! really cool! + when am all tired of playing with the sounds, i simply topple the table over so i can use it a makeshift ramp or chair (see how i do it + how much i enjoy it here)! that is the funnest part 🙂

a stay-at-home-mum’s guide to toy buying

now that the christmas season is finally upon us, i am sure you are all in such a hurry to buy gifts for your children, nieces and nephews and inaanaks.  here are interesting and helpful tips you should remember in buying those children toys:
safe – children’s safety while playing with these toys are of sterling importance. of course who would want harmful chemicals like bpa lurking their baby’s toy as he chews away on his new soft book or swallowing a part of his toy car, or a car simply unraveling as your child mounts it. so make sure to check the label if that particular toy you have in mind passed standards on safety and do check if they are environment-friendly as that would mean no harmful chemicals are used in your toys.
age-appropriate – make sure you buy toys approriate for kids for simple reason that toys for older kids tend to have smaller bits and pieces which are utterly dangerous to smaller and younger babies for threat of being accidentally swallowed.
educational – playing must also be learning time so make sure the toys you buy is not only something the kids will enjoy at play but will also be an instrument in learning too. pop-up books, board books for little babies and big story books are best bet for this!
bear these in mind as you do a round-up of christmas shopping for your loved ones and you can never go wrong.

happy gift-giving!
