on traveling + learning a foreign language

travel, out + about, my favorite things, educational places for children to visit, fun activities for children

we planned to spend more time outdoors this year + seemed like we were off to a good start as we joined a fun walk at school earlier this year. we had to wake up very early in the morning in order to make it to the assembly place at 5.30am. we were a bit late, but we still managed to join. we had fun walking through the road leading to my school before the sun came up. we were a bit tired + sweaty when we made it to the finish line, but it was all worth it + i really had a great time walking, marveling at the things i see around + getting a much-needed exercise.

we also managed to catch the Pope Francis Stamp Exhibit at SM ~ The Block during the Holy Father’s visit here + i did not fail to grab the chance to have a quick snap with his life-size standee. Do you like our photo together?

we also managed to go to the la mesa eco park last month. i’ve been asking mum if we can visit the place since i saw bogart the explorer’s episode about his visit to this awesome local park! there are plenty of wide open spaces to roam around, lots of beautiful flowers + huge trees. we had fun running around the green grass + spending great time under the sun! we also got a glimpse of the vast la mesa dam, too bad we were not allowed to take photos of it. we enjoyed our park visit so much i cannot wait for us to go back there!

traveling is really an enjoyable pastime + a perfect bonding activity with the family that is why i really hope we can travel more this year. it might take a few while before we’d require one of those translations services and travel to a foreign country, but there are loads of beautiful + amazing places to visit in our country + i would love to have the chance to see + visit a number of them. i just hope mum + dad will have enough budget for these travel adventures!  :Pleasure:

where do you plan to travel next this month?

out + about: intramuros

weekend, out + about, travel

it sure was a gloomy + bleak day because of the storm + we have no classes today, but i am glad that we still managed to have quite an enjoyable day.we read this very interesting book, played with my transformers toys + with our teensy-weensy microscope. one of the things that i miss doing now that the rainy season is here again is traveling + visiting interesting places, just like what we did last year when we visited intramuros in manila. i did not get around to telling you all about it, so hear goes…

weekend, out + about, travel

intramuros is one very interesting place for anyone to visit. the walled city is full of awesome places to check out, including a couple of churches, souvenir shops and museums. at the time of our visit, the atmosphere was very festive thanks to the street performers and the numerous shops that set up their wares and products on the street. my favorite of all was this shop that sells very huge bubble makers. i really had a wonderful time chasing the larger-than-life bubbles with other kiddos around.

weekend, out + about, travel

another activity that i really enjoyed that day was when i tried the quad bike or what they call the electric chariot from one of the companies who joined the street exhibit that day. it was an awesome experience to try out the bike. i am sure i would’ve absolutely enjoyed it more if i was able to give it a go around the area.

weekend, out + about, travel

it was indeed a great experience to visit intramuros. before leaving we also stopped by this souvenir shop with mum + her postcrossing friend, where i got to see all these pretty postcards. can you guess which ones we bought?

traveling to places is really a fun + enjoyable activity. i just hope the weather will clear up soon so we might get to spend time outdoors. in the meantime, let us all stay safe + pray that typhoon glenda won’t wreak havoc in our country.

out + about at eastwood mall

out + about, travel

last december mum + went to a christmas food bazaar at eastwood mall in libis, quezon city. it sure was a lovely experience as i saw a lot of colorful food, am sure they were equally delicious, am just not up to the task just yet. apart from checking out the different food stalls that participated in the food fare, we were also able to look around and saw how beautiful the place was. + did i mention, we also get to ride the train inside the mall where mum also bought me a toy!

out + about, travel

it was probably a bonus that we came here during christmas season as the place is full of lovely christmas decors as well as beautiful + dazzling lights. i guess mum got all too excited she cannot help but take loads of photos of me! 🙂

out + about, travel

one of my favorite spot here is probably this water part. am not sure if this is a mini pond or a water fountain for it sure looks like both, nevertheless, i enjoyed sitting on its edge and admiring the water below. there are small christmas tree structures right in the middle + am very sure they light them up at night.

here are a few more photos we took that day:

mommy + me monday 06: one fine saturday

weekend, tagaytay

we recently went to tagaytay with my titas + here are two of the photos we took that day. this first one is when we posed by the pine trees, just before we hiked up to the elevated part of crosswinds, which was said to be a helipad (or a place where a helicopter lands or takes off!), cool right? i totally enjoyed walking along the green patch + amidst the grass-peppered surrounding. my titas + my mum took turns walking with me. it was a hot + sunny day, + was perspiring like mad, my mum had to put powder on my back quite a few times.

Tagaytay

we were given mats of red + blue to spread in the grass so we ca sit on them. a program was held + there are loads of contests + food. of course, i was too little to join the contests + is just mildly interested with grown-up food, well, except for the bottled water + the tasty pineapple juice, that is 😉 i played in the afternoon until i got tired + come nightfall, we sent gleaming lanterns into the sky (remember that scene from my fave movie, tangled? it was so much like it!)

before we go home we even visited this pretty christmas house with loads of toys inside + beautiful snow outside. i also love the lights + played with it some. a man even gave me a box of candies + treat, which i gave to my cousins as my pasalubong.

that’s all for now, am sure mum will post about all of that afternoon’s adventures soon. sharing this through:Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

kids in doodles 04: mum or monkey bars?

tagaytay

i’ve written about our recent trip to tagaytay, but i failed to mention that apart from enjoying the scenic view, i also enjoyed doing this! err, i don’t exactly know what to call this nifty thing i discovered but here’s how it goes: when am sensing mum would put me down (most especially when we are outside or in a crowded place ;)), to show my disapproval i’d just claw my way to not being put down. i’d wrap my legs around mum’s leg so she won’t be able to put me down. in the end, i manage to stay in her arms! neat, right? it’s much like making a vertical monkey bar out of mum’s leg.

it really is effective, you should try it sometime 😉
