off the shelf: ang barumbadong bus

books, my favorite things, kids reading, reading

Hi there, it has been awhile since you heard from me. Things are a tad busy at home with mum doing a gazillion of things and this school boy, busy with school work and other stuff.

One of the many things I would like to share with you are my favorite things, so today I am talking about one of my favorite books ~ Ang Barumbadong Bus.

Here’s a brief summary found at the back of the book:

Isang bus na kaskasero ang naghahari-harian sa kalsada.

Wala siyang pakialam sa kapakanan ng iba.

Basahin sa kwentong ito ang sinapit

ng barumbadong bus dahil sa kaniyang kayabangan.

This story is about a temperamental bus called Kas, who wants to drive fast in the street, passed the many other cars and vehicles, whom he bullied as he zoomed by. This bus only cares for himself and does not care whether he hurt the other vehicles as he passed them by. Even his passengers are afraid of him because he is known to race in the street and to speed on without waiting for the passengers to fully exit his bus.

Off The Shelf: Disney Planes

children's books, books, my favorite things, collections, kids reading, reading

Mum + I were off to the mall one afternoon after school for some errands when I asked if we can drop at the toy section. No mall visit was ever complete without dropping by this part of the mall. No, I do not buy toys all the time, but I enjoy browsing through the display of latest toys and spend time checking for my favorites, like die-cast cars, action figures, among others.

While doing her own browsing mum stumbled into these books that are up at discounted price that day. Planes is one of my favorite films, so we opted for this Disney Planes book, which we got for half the original price! A great deal, right?

This book tells the story of the first Disney Planes film. It introduces us to a crop duster, Dusty Crophopper, who has big dreams of joining the Wings Across the Globe race. Many people laughed at his seemingly impossible dream but Dusty never gave up. He joined the qualifying rounds but failed to make the cut, but one stroke of luck got him in the race and went on to race around the globe along with his idol, Ripslinger, and popular racers like El Chupacabra, Ishani, Bulldog, + Rochelle. With the help of his friends, Chug + Dotty, and his mentor, Skipper, Dusty went on to win the championship to prove that anyone who does not give up on their dreams is bound to achieve them one day.

Planes is a spin-off of another popular Disney franchise, Cars, which is my most favorite! A sequel to the first film was also shown not too long ago, it was called Disney: Fire and Rescue.

Reading about one of my favorite films is such a great way to pass the time. This is my current bedtime read. What is yours?

From The Toy Box: Dinosaur Excavation Kit

my favorite things, toys, educational toys for children

How is your summer so far? Are you bored or have you found some interesting ways to pass your time. I sure hope I can squeeze in a few more activities before summer is over. I would love to learn how to play one of those 60s guitars, but I am not sure if mum can find an affordable music tutor nearby.

Anyway, it was another one of those lazy summer afternoons when mum unearthed this National Geographic Channel Dinosaur Excavation Kit so I can play with it. I’ve had it for a while now but have not found the time to play with it. I was also down with coughs and colds when we received it that mum kept it until I am well and free from the sniffles. The educational toy kit include this small grey block, a small brush, + a chisel. The goal is to dig into the small block until you find the remains of a dinosaur buried somewhere underneath.

played adventurers for a day + found this seismosaurus! #jaredslittlecorner #weekend #fms_photoaday #fms_neutrals

Mum set up my chairs outside + unboxed this toy. I dug the afternoon away, searching for a sign of a dinosaur in between the dust and the rubble. With a little help from mum, I finally managed to dig up this cool seismosaurus from the block. Don’t you think he was cool? It was also an awesome idea to be a little adventurer for a day, searching for this buried treasure. I think dinosaurs are very awesome creatures + I also currently like the film, The Good Dinosaur, which we saw at the cinema a few months back. Mum downloaded a copy + I’ve watched it several times at home.

i got peanutized!

my favorite things, cartoon characters, cartoons

I just recently discovered the awesome + colorful world of Peanuts thanks to the Snoopy and Charlie Brown The Peanut Movie which I have seen a couple dozen times already! I fell in love with Charlie Brown’s colorful world + his awesome friends. It was good that they also launched Happy Meal Peanuts toys in time for the film + even when I was not able to collect all the toys, I am very happy with those that we got in our collection {although if you will be kind enough to send us the Schoeder + Sally toys, it will be most appreciated ^_^}. I will share my Peantus happy Meal Toys

A few days back mum showed me this cool Peanutize Me website, where you can turn yourself into one of those cool Peanuts characters. I chose among the many different options and this is what the Peanut version of me looks like! I love wearing shades + watch so I included that in my Peanut self. I thought he was cool, what do you think? This Peanutize photos can be downloaded as profile picture or a wall paper. We downloaded the profile photo version so we can easily share it here.

Did you make a Peanut version of yourself, too? I wonder how you looked like.
