out + about: going to the playground

out + about, playgrounds, family time

Since the rainy season started, we can no longer spend as much time outdoors as we would like to. I miss spending time outside playing + wandering, + I miss biking most of all. Since summer ended it was only mum who gets to ride her bike sometimes, bringing my lunch to school.

I miss playing outside so much that I was really happy that we were able to do just that a few weeks back. There was a storm that day and classes were suspended. Luckily, the rain was not so bad that mum thought it was a good idea for a trip to the mall. Mum bought new clothes and shopped for postcards and cute stuff from one of the shops in the mall. We also ate lunch in one of our favorite fast foods!

Have A #MerrySMChristmas2015 As Your Favorite Cartoon Comes To Life!

SM City North Edsa, christmas, out + about, announcement, press release

Kids and kids-at-heart are expected to enjoy an enchanting Christmas at all SM malls nationwide starting this weekend, November 6 to 8, with well-loved cartoon and toy characters joining the launch revelries of SM’s Grand Christmas celebration.

Festivities start at SM North EDSA on Friday, November 6, where all-time favorite Disney characters will be present during the launch of “A Season of Magic”. To make the event more meaningful, children from a selected beneficiary will be given a chance to personally meet Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and have a first peek at the main attraction –  the Disney Village. A medley of favorite Disney songs will be performed by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir.

Throughout the weekend, the fun continues with other malls all over the country simultaneously launching their own Christmas centerpieces featuring various animated characters and Christmas themes. These include Disney’s Frozen, Barbie, Cartoon Network, Toy Factory and 100 Elves, Snoopy and Charlie Brown, Nickelodeon, Disney Princess, Disney Junior, Adventure Time, Lego Christmas Adventure, and Sanrio Holiday, among others.

According to Jonjon San Agustin, SM Supermalls’ Senior Vice-President for Marketing,“We are just as excited as children everywhere as SM officially starts the holiday with our biggest themed Christmas celebrations yet. Christmas at our malls is for kids and the young at heart, so we have gathered the most number of cartoon and comic character themes everin our 55 malls nationwide.  Each mall will be decorated with giant installations and picture-worthy pockets of Christmas fun that will form part of kids’ memories until they become parents themselves.”

Although these attractions will be open to the public throughout the Christmas season, the public is enjoined to bring their families, kids, relatives and friends to enjoy the weekend launch activities at any SM mall.

For a complete schedule of activities and launches, please go to SM’s official Christmas microsite, follow its official social media accounts at Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and get an insider access to all the fun happenings at SM Supermalls nationwide through Viber. Shoppers can actively share their holiday merriments inside the SM Supermalls by posting their photos on social media and adding the hashtag #MerrySMChristmas2015.

on traveling + learning a foreign language

travel, out + about, my favorite things, educational places for children to visit, fun activities for children

we planned to spend more time outdoors this year + seemed like we were off to a good start as we joined a fun walk at school earlier this year. we had to wake up very early in the morning in order to make it to the assembly place at 5.30am. we were a bit late, but we still managed to join. we had fun walking through the road leading to my school before the sun came up. we were a bit tired + sweaty when we made it to the finish line, but it was all worth it + i really had a great time walking, marveling at the things i see around + getting a much-needed exercise.

we also managed to catch the Pope Francis Stamp Exhibit at SM ~ The Block during the Holy Father’s visit here + i did not fail to grab the chance to have a quick snap with his life-size standee. Do you like our photo together?

we also managed to go to the la mesa eco park last month. i’ve been asking mum if we can visit the place since i saw bogart the explorer’s episode about his visit to this awesome local park! there are plenty of wide open spaces to roam around, lots of beautiful flowers + huge trees. we had fun running around the green grass + spending great time under the sun! we also got a glimpse of the vast la mesa dam, too bad we were not allowed to take photos of it. we enjoyed our park visit so much i cannot wait for us to go back there!

traveling is really an enjoyable pastime + a perfect bonding activity with the family that is why i really hope we can travel more this year. it might take a few while before we’d require one of those translations services and travel to a foreign country, but there are loads of beautiful + amazing places to visit in our country + i would love to have the chance to see + visit a number of them. i just hope mum + dad will have enough budget for these travel adventures!  :Pleasure:

where do you plan to travel next this month?
