kids in doodles: playing with stars

early learning, early childhood education, kids in doodles, playtime

one of my favorite things to do now is to play with stars, mum loves making them + placing them in bottles to be displayed in our home + while she busied herself with one of her favorite pastimes, i preoccupy myself with her finish products. here you’ll see me placing the little stars in this plastic bottle container. now i’ve moved on to pouring them from one bottle to another, one different container to the next. sure is a lot of fun! plus mum said it also keeps my little hands busy + helps me to work on my motor skills, so i guess it’s all good! 🙂

apart from counting them up + aiming to shoot them onto the plastic bottle, i also enjoy scattering them on the floor + retrieving them one by one with my mum. they might end up all over the floor + underneath the sofa, but we enjoy picking them up + keeping them in their container afterwards 😉

so what unsuspecting objects are you playing at home now? do share them with us, along with your doodle stories, too. don’t forget to put one of our kids in doodles badges on your post + visit the other players, too! a great weekend ahead everyone + i shall wait for your entries 😉

kids in doodles: my very first watercolor painting

kids in doodles, early learning

mum has been thinking of ways to pass our time more productively other than having too much time in front of the telly + recently she has put out some of the arts ‘n crafts supplies she bought for me a few months back. i have tried cutting {sort of, as my chubby little hands cannot tackle the safety scissors that well yet!} paper strips, + pasting googly eyes on my drawing pad. it was all fun + mum said i am also learning from these great activities.

another one of those activities we’ve tried recently is watercolor painting. i wasn’t paying too much attention to this bit of blue box-y thing with different colors in it, so you can just imagine the smile on mum’s face when i suddenly ask her one day that we try out this intriguing stuff. mum excitedly got me some water + we started trying out the different shades of my watercolor. colors in my kit included blue, green, pink + yellow. check out what i have put together!  not much really, since i am still really having a difficult time controlling my strokes but mum said i’d get the hang of it eventually + will make more interesting paintings in the future. 😉

what can you say about my watercolor painting? drop me a comment or two, will you? do not forget to join in with your kids in doodles stories, too. badges to add to your post are found here!

i will see you then + keep safe + dry in this rainy season!  🙂

the colorful world of pocoyo

pocoyo, early learning

mum + i (for lack of better things to do) recently visited pocoyo’s world (as we have been stuck at home for days on end recently) back + look what we’ve found, some interesting + fun colorful learning stuffs for children. this is all about the different numbers + colorful ways on how to learn them.

pocoyo, early learningin this picture, we need to choose which photo matches number 8 + mum said the correct answer is the one on the right since there are 8 snails on that picture

Pocoyo, early learninghere’s another one! this time pocoyo will ask you to trace the number that is written on the screen, in this case the number 3. this is a good + fun way for little children to learn about numbers + how to write them, too.

although, these a bit way too advanced for me, it did not stop me from enjoying this educational tutorial as pocoyo made sure it was a fun learning experience. maybe if i am a bit older, i will ask mum to solve these puzzles again that way i’d learn about numbers + counting much easily 😉

you can check out pocoyo world for more fun + learning exercises.
