on traveling + learning a foreign language

travel, out + about, my favorite things, educational places for children to visit, fun activities for children

we planned to spend more time outdoors this year + seemed like we were off to a good start as we joined a fun walk at school earlier this year. we had to wake up very early in the morning in order to make it to the assembly place at 5.30am. we were a bit late, but we still managed to join. we had fun walking through the road leading to my school before the sun came up. we were a bit tired + sweaty when we made it to the finish line, but it was all worth it + i really had a great time walking, marveling at the things i see around + getting a much-needed exercise.

we also managed to catch the Pope Francis Stamp Exhibit at SM ~ The Block during the Holy Father’s visit here + i did not fail to grab the chance to have a quick snap with his life-size standee. Do you like our photo together?

we also managed to go to the la mesa eco park last month. i’ve been asking mum if we can visit the place since i saw bogart the explorer’s episode about his visit to this awesome local park! there are plenty of wide open spaces to roam around, lots of beautiful flowers + huge trees. we had fun running around the green grass + spending great time under the sun! we also got a glimpse of the vast la mesa dam, too bad we were not allowed to take photos of it. we enjoyed our park visit so much i cannot wait for us to go back there!

traveling is really an enjoyable pastime + a perfect bonding activity with the family that is why i really hope we can travel more this year. it might take a few while before we’d require one of those translations services and travel to a foreign country, but there are loads of beautiful + amazing places to visit in our country + i would love to have the chance to see + visit a number of them. i just hope mum + dad will have enough budget for these travel adventures!  :Pleasure:

where do you plan to travel next this month?

kids in doodles: my new sketchpad

time for yet another kids in doodles + i hope you’re all ready this week with your share! 🙂

my tita jinky went to the bookstore last week + look what she got for me! a really nice looking sketchpad. she noticed that i have recently been very interested in drawing + suggested i doodle on an actual sketch pad instead of my magic slate. i think it is a good idea since i can get to keep a copy of my drawings  this time around as all my masterpieces drawn on the magic slate can never be saved.

i cannot wait to use my new sketchpad + draw my favorite subjects these days, the teenage mutant ninja turtles! i know am still a long way from drawing the turtles real good, but nothing a lot of practice cannot accomplish, right? so i will just keep on drawing + i do hope you wish me luck!

your turn! do not forget to link up with us so we can see your awesome doodles! have a great week ahead!  :Bye:

kids in doodles: my very own diy frame

happy wednesday boys + girls, it is time for another round of kids in doodles!

fun activities for children, pre-schooler, Kids in Doodles
today am sharing all about the diy frame i created last year when mum + i joined the mom + me fun circuit. read on to know more about it….

fun activities for children, pre-schooler, Kids in Doodles

we participated in the press preview of mom + me fun circuit last year + we did 3 exciting activities with other kids + their mums. one of those is a stop to kidzart in mandaluyong city, where we got to make our own frames. it sure was a very awesome experience to be doing some arts + crafts with other kids.

we painted our black frames with watercolor. one of the teachers there helped me with my clouds + grass drawing, while i went on to cover them with watercolor. am not really good at this since i have just tried watercolor painting about 2 times! but i think i did pretty well.

after finishing my painting, i tapped this ball and car cutouts onto my frame, i have also painted these papers with watercolor ~ blue for the car and orange for the ball! after mum put a number of big paperclips onto my project, i know have my very own diy frame + mum was so excited to display it at home. she placed a photo of me from my 3rd birthday in my cool frame + it now hangs in our kitchen shelves. what do you think?

by the way, for this summer mom + me has lined up a couple of fun to be fit series where mum + children can get to enjoy fun physical activities like yoga + swimming, you can read all about it in this post here.

mom & me: fun to be fit

announcement, fun activities for children

mum enjoys doing yoga + am sure she will be thrilled to pass up the chance to do yoga with me. that is why am sure she will be contemplating on attending this year’s first leg of the mom & me series {you may read all about our last year’s mom & me experience here}. this time around, the people from mom & me arranged fun + enjoyable physical activities for both mums {or dads} + kids to enjoy. to know more about this exciting event, read the the press release below:

IT’S FUN TO BE FIT WITH MOM AND ME!

announcement, fun activities for children

Keeping fit and healthy starts in the home. Kids need physical activity to build strength, coordination, and confidence and it is the parent’s responsibility to lay the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. How can you do this, you ask? The answer is simple – engage in physical activities with them and make it a daily habit.

For kids, fitness means playing and being physically active. Once they enter nursery until they get to big school, exercise comes in the form of playing tag with friends, P.E. classes, and attending organized sports such as basketball or swimming. However, parents can no longer rely on physical education in schools to provide enough physical activity for kids. They need to play a more active role and make fitness a family routine.

This March, jumpstart the summer with Mom and Me: Fun To Be Fit, a series of health and fitness activities that both moms and kids will enjoy.

Yoga for all ages have become popular as this activity improves the three elements of fitness – endurance, strength, and flexibility. Moms and kids, and even dads too, can sweat it out in the mat with an interactive yoga class from Yoga+ on March 1 (12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and White Space Mind and Body Wellness Studio on March 15 (12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.). Poses that promote fun, laughter, and creativity will keep the kids engaged while moms challenge themselves in their own yoga practice.

While yoga entails focus and flexibility, aerobic dancing involves heart-pumping movements and is a great way to improve coordination and memory. Make your way to Slimmers World on Mach 8 (9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) in their Megamall branch and March 22 (9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) in Trafalgar Makati branch for a fun and easy dance work out. Moms will also enjoy a signature Body Fat Analysis and Figure Consultation, Nutritional Counseling, Diamond Peel and a Slimming Treatment. Dancing to upbeat tunes, prepare to sweat it out. You’ll surely find yourself doing the routine even until you get home.

Swimming is one of the best workouts you can give your body as it activates almost all of your muscle groups at the same time. Since you’re floating in water, there’s less pressure on your joints and bones, and it almost seems like you’re not really exercising. Rounding up the Mom and Me Fun To Be Fit series is a swimming class with Coach Herman Brinas as hosted by The Legend Villas on March 29 (9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.). Paddle, kick, and soak the sun, it’s a fun fitness activity for a Saturday afternoon.

Entrance Pass is only Php 350 good for mom/dad and one child per day. Participants get the chance to win in raffles and will receive a loot bag filled with treats.

Allow enough time for free play, regulate the use of gadgets, and keep a variety of games and sports equipment at home. You’ll be surprised how a jump rope can make a big difference. Show your kids that fitness is important by engaging in fitness activities with them. Mom and Me: Fun To Be Fit gets you and your little one active together. Get in shape and create moments that you and the kids will remember for a lifetime!

Mom and Me: Fun to Be Fit happens every Saturday of March – March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. For details and event tickets, go to www.momandme.com.ph. Like and Follow Mom and Me at /mommyandmePH. This event is also supported by Citibank, Enercal Plus, Thor Productions, Malaya Living, Baby Magazine, Travelife Magazine, Circuit, Mom Center Philippines, and WhenInManila(dot)com.
