i might’ve mentioned before that mum collects postcard as a hobby + one of the things we both enjoyed receiving in the mail are postcards of my favorite disney characters!

we were in the post office some weeks ago and the kind post office cleck, whom we call “nanay,” which is mum in our vernacular, handed this postcard to me. it was a card mum got from this postcrossing site she’s signed up for last year. + lookie, it was a very cute postcard of woody + buzz lightyear, my favorites! ^_^

am sure mum will let me keep the disney postcards when i am old enough. hopefully we’ll be able to collect a lot, too. some of the cards in our collection include my ultimate favorites cars and mickey mouse!

my lightning mcqueen magic slate

i did mention in my kids in doodles post that mum + i went to manila last weekend to meet up with my ninang jack. i last saw her when i was baptized, so i am not familiar with her that much. mum + her agreed to meet up at the block, in sm north. we found one of this shops that serve taho, which is one of my favorites + the grown ups decided to sit there for awhile as they finish their cups of taho. i am not too fond of it + would rather play around while they eat 😀

ninang jack gave me a gift which i excitedly open. when all the christmas wrapper is gone, i got this lightning mcqueen magic slate + i liked it instantly. i doodles on the magnetic pad + played with the clock + the knobs on top. it also comes with these shapes of heart, circle + triangle that leaves a stamp-pad like print on the slate when you use it. mum also wrote letters on the slate for me to read + my ninang was so delighted that i can now distinguish + read most of the letters of the alphabet 😀

after i got bored writing on the slate, the different stamp-pad like shapes make for good improvised balls i threw around the floor! i was all over the floor catching them, + sometimes mum would run + get them for me. + did i mention i knocked down a poster/display in the shop in the middle of my rough play? glad the shop keeper did not spank me!

mum told me to just sit + behave after that, but she knows i cannot really sit still for 5 solid seconds, i had to run around the place again. i busied myself checking out the mannequins nearby before the grown ups decided to call it a day.

my new chairs

look at what my tita cecille gave me for christmas? a table + a pair of these colorful chairs, which are just perfect for my size, cool, right? ^_^

we have not taken a photo of the table, but mum put some of my favorite toys + books on it. she said we will use the table for when i start learning how to scribble, doodle + color this year. it will be perfect for our little homeschooling adventure to prepare me for big school later on.

we will be placing my new table + chairs where the christmas tree is located now, i guess i will just have to wait until mum gets inspired to box the tree, in the meantime, my furniture will be in a little corner in our tiny living room.

my chairs double as toys, too, so am sharing them with toy stories this week ^_^

christmas gifts

I have never really gone out to visit my ninongs + my ninangs, since most of them live in manila where mum used to work before. although i’ve only got a few gifts for this year, i love each one of them + who knows maybe i will get more in the coming days. christmas season is not yet over, anyway 😉

here are my favorite gifts this christmas:

this is a book + slate given to me by my ninang ella, which i particularly loved because i love cars + i also love doodling 🙂

this one is the last of mum’s wooden toy gifts. this is the only one i got to open on christmas eve, really, since this is the only one mum brought from our tree back home. since it is impractical to bring all my gifts along when we went home, mum brought this so i will be sure to open it during our celebration. we opened it before the feast + i was dosing off to dreamland when the grown ups started eating the food they prepare. i love this toy, i played with it for a long time when i opened it! 🙂

the last gift i will share to you is this hotwheels bowl set which was given to me by tita jane, one of mum’s friends. i love it too, even if it’s not a toy as i will surely enjoy using them in the coming days. hopefully mum can encourage me to eat more solids next year with this 🙂

my new toy drum

my new toy came in the mail a few days back. it was sent to mum for review + i simply loved it! i am really into music + hopefully when i get bigger, playing some instruments, including my tito‘s keyboard + an actual drum set, too.

the big brown box came with the very cool drum, along with these lot: a pair of drumsticks, a pair of little maracas, a castanet + a tambourine stick. + i tell you i wasn’t the only one who enjoyed playing with it the first day it arrived, mum was tapping on the drum head like a kid, too! 😀

i guess we will be jamming more + making wonderful music on our spare time. i hope you can jam along with us 🙂
