jared’s favorite things: elmo’s vid with will.i.am

yesterday morning, when i woke up, i saw mum watching this video (she saw it, whilst visiting another mum blog, from a mommy’s sweet blog design). it was an instant favorite, i listened to it over + over + over yesterday + doing some more today. i definitely love elmo + thought you like him too, so i must share this (i’ll ask mum to search for lyrics online so we can sang along to it even better):

where-to weekend: world book + copyright day on 15 april

wbcd_web.jpg

on friday, 15 april, mum + i will be heading to up-ayala technohub for the world book + copyrights day 2011! it will be our first time to attend such event, i guess being both book lovers that we are, mum + i are both excited to go. i have not been out to events much lately, see, so i am more that delighted that mum decided to go to this one. plus, i’d love to join the kids’ workshop on the step-by-step stages of illustrating for storybooks, let’s just see if they’d welcome a tot like me! that really sounds interesting.

am sure mum will also tag me along so we can listen to the talk about chick lit + pinoy romance fiction (i heard her favorite phr author will be there). plus, i guess she would also love to check out the seminar on copyrighting, publishing on the web, + food + travel blogging.  there will also be other fun activities + a book fair. hmm, maybe i can ask mum to get me one of those adarna board books, the one she brought home 2 weeks ago (i’d ask mum to take a photo so we can post it here). i enjoy reading it + i’d love to have another one.

so if you’re free come friday, don’t forget to head on to qc for a day of books + activities. see you all there! + don’t forget to visit their site for more details, right?

2. have yet to post the giveaway i told you about, working on all the details, til further notice.

3. But this child abuse incident really has to be addressed properly, am only glad the right people stepped up + did something to get some results.

4. I’d love a boat ride in the stream.

5. It’s always nice to wake up greeted by the beautiful smile of my child.

6. my fun idea of a weekend are great food and pleasant company.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to getting enough sleep, tomorrow my plans include waking up early + go to Manila for an afternoon of mommy me-time, and Sunday, I want to spend the entire afternoon with my son!

mommy moments – a summer to remember

summer has officially arrived + am just excited since this is jared’s official first summer {he was a tad smaller last year that we didn’t really get to enjoy most of the summer out, plus mum was busy working back then, too :(}, here’s what i have in mind:
  • a summer outing which can be in a resort nearby or a beach nearest to us (still in the works though, but will definitely push through before this summer is officially over)
  • of course, even if my son is not yet schooling, summer is also a great time to line up other activities like  having a haircut for the little man since his tufts have grown a lot in the last 3 months + he badly needs one! (i tried cutting off a little of his bangs, to prevent his hair from falling into his eyes, as a safety precaution)
  • am contemplating on enrolling my son in swimming lessons too, i personally do not know how to swim + i’d love for my son to learn in an early age. plus i’ve read about the benefits of swimming for babies’ health + brain development + am definitely for it! found a school a few minutes away + is on the process of inquiring about it.
  • will be having a fruit party come holy week (when everyone is at home), we plan to stock up on what’s-in- season fruits. i can’t wait to see jared devour a mango, see, he loves the juice version to bits + am sure he will definitely like the real thing too. apart from mangoes, we plan to include singkamas (jimaca), probably a bit of watermelon too (that’s isabel’s fave), and maybe i can mix up some lemonade while we’re at it (anything to beat the scorching summer heat, really!)
  • +, yep, a pool party at home is also in the works. it has actually taken us awhile to fix up the inflateable pool since my niece + nephew had fallen ill the past weeks (now sean is down with chickenpox!), so we are just waiting till they can participate, to make the party all the more enjoyable.
  • we will also be going to a book event next week (i’ll be writing about that on a separate post)
  • + definitely a lot of outdoors time (so that means a lot of time away from this blog too!)
haven’t got a summer photo, yet, to share, so how about this one taken outdoors?

that’s about it with our summer plans, hopefully i can also include flying a kite or going on a picnic or visiting a zoo on the list, but i guess you’ll never know, summer is still young + it is teeming with endless possibilities.
here’s to one summer to remember!

some wonderful week!

last week’s wonderful moments:
just like that and march is long + gone, and 10 days off the month of april is ticking by each second – time flies – sometimes, even faster than we wished it would be.
mid of last week was my son’s 19th month birthday, yep, i never got over the habit of counting down the months since he was born that it stuck even after jared celebrated his very first birthday ( i guess i’ll keep counting till i can recall how old he is in months!).  in celebration i just mean reminding everyone in the house that my baby turned a month older + greeting him on my fb wall, nothing really fancy!
i got paid for several articles i wrote + am $40 dollars richer by month-end, i guess that made my paypal account shout hurrah! 😉
i also got the shirts i ordered from kcat on friday. i did write about it in my other blog, i ordered several shirts  in support of her fundraising drive for an open-head surgery to remove tumors that’s making her right eye bulge. it feels good to buy a new shirt + it feels even better that i was able to help (however minute it could be) her while doing so. we totally loved the shirt + plans to buy again soon. i will post a photo of them in my other blog too.
on sunday, it was the weekend every pmc member is waiting for, the grand eb is on. trooped to megamall that hot summer afternoon (sans my little man, since i decided to leave him to his tito at home), i was several hours late, since 10am is the agreed call time, i arrived to kamayan by 1pm, i think, + was greeted with familiar faces. it was several hours of endless chatters, making new friends offline + camaraderie. it was such delight that i’ve discovered this angel of a group, kudos to my good friend, vance, for telling me to join. the dream of meeting my online friends has now become a reality + i enjoyed the encounter very much, not to mention the hearty food + the lovely tokens i got to take home after the event. we agreed to meet again in november when mommy rubz will fly to manila with his kids to celebrate her son’s birthday. i shall be looking forward to that one with much anticipation, too!

‘t was some week, really + to think i was even pining last saturday over not being able to attend iblog7, oh well, maybe i’ll get luckier with that next year…
so how’s your weekend? here’s wishing it was fun, exciting + enriching just like how mine was…
