Encouraging Your Little Sports Fan

grown up stuff, tips + tricks, sports

When it comes to sports teams, kids tend to follow family traditions. For example, if a family has a long history of rooting for the local professional baseball team, then children born into that family will usually get caught up in the fan mania as well. Parents who are also sports fans like to encourage their little ones to have as much team spirit as possible, and there are plenty of ways to inspire a love of the home team in your littlest fan.

Dress Them In The Proper Apparel

If you are an NFL family, then you should be investing in NFL baby clothes for your little ones. It is never too early to get a fan started on that lifelong journey with their team, and being seen in team apparel is a great way to help your little fan show some team spirit.

Take Them To A Game

A live sporting event can be a loud and lively event, which means that it is not ideal for the very young fans. But as your child gets a little older, you can create exciting memories by taking them to their first real game. When you get your little fan decked out in their own team gear and take them to see the team play in person, you are creating a day your child will never forget.

Dress Up Their Bedroom

A good place to allow your child to show their fan allegiance is in their bedroom. You can do something as simple as getting your child a set of bed sheets with the team’s logo and colors on them, or you can get involved in elaborate painting projects that turn their entire room into a fan’s dream. There are also large, removable decals you can get of your child’s favorite players that would look perfect on their bedroom walls.

Being a sports fan is usually something that children get directly from their families. A child might start to follow their parents’ favorite team, or it could be granddad’s favorite college football team that creates dreams for the little fan to follow. You can encourage your little fan to cheer on their team, and enjoy the up and down ride of being a true and passionate sports fan, by providing them with the tools they need to put their sports allegiance on display wherever they go.

Mum + dad are not huge sports fans but we do enjoy watching a basketball game from time to time. They also recently bought me this cute basketball jersey, which I also wore for a school activity. I though being interested in sports is really cool. My fave at the moment is swimming + I cannot wait for my summer swimming class to start. I also enjoy a friendly game of basketball with my parents in our garage whenever we can + this year I am re-starting to learn how to bike +looking forward to use my new Avengers bike everyday!

Happy New Year!

Before mum turns off the laptop to take a break from work + welcome 2016, allow me to greet everyone a blessed + prosperous new year! This year has been an awesome adventure + we look forward to another great year this 2016.

Some of the highlights of our year is my very first commencement activity in March, where I got a number of medals for the efforts i put in for studying, my very fun swimming lessons last summer, my 6th birthday when we went to Kidzoona, our visit to Art In Island, my very first field trip in October and our very first visit to Kidzania Manila {you can read all about the experience in mum’s post here}, my first apple bite {yes, i am not fond of fruits + hopefully i’d be able to eat more of them this new year!}, and a hosts of weekend trips we made to my grandparents’ house to visit + play with my cousins! We also got to visit Museo Pambata twice this year. Of course, I won’t forget the time when we got to watch Mickey Mouse + his gang when they had a show in Manila. I definitely enjoyed each and everyone of these experiences!

Here’s to making more wonderful memories this coming year + hopefully, mum will get to have more time to make more updates around here. Can you believe she has yet to blog about most of the things we did this year? I do hope she will find more time to blog around here next year, or who knows, I might just be making my “official” first post in this corner very soon!

We’ll be off to my grandparents’ house to welcome 2016 just like we did last Christmas which I absolutely enjoyed. We stayed there for 3 days! I hope we can stay longer this time around so I can catch up with my ate + my kuya. Also, tito Ken said he would buy some sparklers for our New Year celebration so I am all excited.

Here are the toys included in the Jollitown Build and Craft Blocks series:

  • 1. Super Shapers ~ little artists like me can press a button on the side of the pen tower to reveal the pen tip. We can usee this to trace stencil images onto paper. We can also slide our picture in the photo frame slot and the other container can be used as a desk calendar, or as organizer for our school or arts supplies.
  • 2. Jolly Stamper ~ kid designers can decorate our own Jollitown memo pad using the stamper with 2 stamp design plates. Pressing a button on top of the tower will also activate a light to reveal Hetty’s image.
  • 3. Fun Tracer we can easily trace Jollibee’s face onto paper by turning on the switch on the Fun Tracer to project an image of every kid’s best friend. We can also display photos at the back slots and use the 2 main boxes as storage bins for our pencils, crayons, or other stuff.
